Public Roads allow passenger vehicles to get from the world entrance(s) to Ground Transportation. They also allow for service vehicles to pass through your airport to get to service roads through a vehicle checkpoint.

The Basics[ | ]

Public roads allow for the movement of buses, cars, and taxis to Ground Transportation structures (bus stops, car drop-offs, taxi stands, and parking lots), where passengers are unloaded. Contractor shuttle busses and material trucks with building material will also use roads to get to offload sites. All off the above structures, as well as vehicle checkpoints must be connected to public roads in order to function properly. All in-game vehicles can travel on public roads.

Placement[ | ]

Public roads are placed using the Click & Drag method. To place a general two directional road, select the road type you want to use, and then click on the first tile you want the road to be at. Then drag the cursor to the end tile you would like to create the road to. For most roads, you will create an elongated shape, often 2 wide with a longer length.

Crosswalks[ | ]

Crosswalks are the only place passengers can walk over a road (both public and service). They are simply placed on a road, and where they are placed passengers can walk. If you want to, you can place a crosswalk on every tile of road so that passengers can walk on roads. Crosswalks can be zoned to allow secure zones to cross roads.

Service Roads[ | ]

This section of this page is to be moved to its own page!

Service roads are used by airport vehicles in order to access stands and perform their specified duties. In order to access service roads a vehicle must pass through a security checkpoint which must be connected to both public and service roads. A vehicle depot is used to store vehicles (allowed to access the service roads) when they are not in use. Service roads, unlike public roads are able to be placed across taxiways to access a larger amount of stands.
